 Our shoetree with an adjusted fitting is made of the wood of the Red Cedar. The tree grows in North America predominantly in sustainable reforestation. Even if the Red Cedar tree is not a real cedar, it brings all the important advantages of a cedar - the reddish color combined with the fragrance of the essential oil Thujaplicin. The natural wood is perfect for a fine shoetree: it is not varnished and completely untreated. Only a fine sanding ensures the smooth surface. The front part of the shoe stretcher is split and equipped with a spring which ensures that creases are gently smoothed in the front shoe area. Two telescopic springs connect the front part with the heel part. The springs are tensioned (compressed) while putting the shoetree in the shoe and then expand. The heel part protects the heel cap of the shoe and the brass button helps to remove the shoetree easily from the shoe. Your shoe stays in shape and does not buckle. Also suitable for comfortable shoes, sneaker and all wide fitting shoes. Use the shoetree as soon as you take off your shoes - ideally, when they are still warm. The Red Cedar wood absorbs the moisture and the essential Thujaplicin acts against bacteria and thus against emerging odor. Your shoes will be given an extended life. The Consul Cedar is a natural product. If you find knotholes or small cracks from the drying phase, this is only a proof of the naturalness and has no influence on the properties of the shoetree. If you discover white spots on the shoetree, it is not mould. The oil Thujaplicine can crystallize out and emerge from the large-pored wood.
